We are proud to announce that our research team from the Department of Applied Informatics, University of Macedonia, has been awarded First Prize in the category “Best Applied Integrated Assessment Methodology” at the 7th Distinctions of the Hellenic Evaluation Society, held during its annual conference.

The award recognizes our work on the usability evaluation of the national digital portal gov.gr, conducted under the scientific leadership of Prof. E. Tampouris and K. Tarabanis, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Governance and Expertise France, within a DG REFORM project.

Our methodology combined:

• Heuristic evaluation
• Qualitative user research using the think-aloud protocol
• Large-scale quantitative assessment using SUS and SUPR-Q questionnaires with hundreds of participants

The results confirmed the overall high usability of gov.gr, while also identifying specific improvement points and providing targeted recommendations, including proposals for the establishment of continuous citizen-driven online evaluations.
