MitosLOD Platform
MITOSLod is a semantic publishing and exploration platform designed to support structured access and advanced querying over parliamentary and legal data. Developed as part of our ongoing work in open government and linked data, MITOSLod enables semantic annotation, interlinking, and visualization of descriptions of Public Services that are available from MITOS (mitos.gov.gr) through an API. The platform demonstrates our commitment to applying Semantic Web and FAIR principles in public policy domains while respecting EU data models, such as CPSV-AP and CCCEV. It offers a powerful example of how legal and political transparency can be enhanced through linked data technologies.

PassBot
We develop and deploy AI-powered chatbots to support information dissemination and interaction with public services. One of our flagship examples is PassBot, a conversational agent designed to provide information on the process of issuing a Greek passport. PassBot integrates natural language understanding with structured government process data, offering users accurate and timely guidance. The platform exemplifies our research in natural language interfaces, automation of citizen support, and conversational UX in public administration.

LessonBot
LessonBot is a conversational chatbot developed to offer administrative support to university students. It was created by Anna Patsourakou, a postgraduate student, as part of a master’s thesis in the field of Information Systems at the Hellenic Open University, under the supervision of Professor Efthymios Tampouris, for the course “Analysis and Design of Systems”.
All systems listed on this page were developed based on a shared template created by Elisavet Ampatzidou and Evita Dasyra.

Issuance of Travel Cards for Persons with Disabilities
In parallel with intelligent chatbots, we develop static dialogue systems to support citizens in accessing predefined and context-specific public service descriptions. These systems have been used for social benefits support, including eligibility guidance and process walkthroughs. Our approach emphasizes reliability, simplicity, and clear user journeys, especially for services where predefined flows and minimal user input are sufficient. These tools highlight our interest in lightweight service automation and inclusive digital communication channels for diverse user groups.

Pilot UoM Open Data Portal
Our team designed and maintains a Pilot Open Data Portal for the University of Macedonia. The portal showcases institutional datasets and demonstrates best practices in open data publishing, metadata annotation, and reusability. It serves both as a prototype environment for experimentation with new tools and formats and as a model for academic transparency. The platform supports RDF and CSV export, SPARQL querying, and metadata standards, reflecting our emphasis on open knowledge infrastructures.

Educational Support Platform
This platform provides academic support and resources for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It hosts a variety of courses and projects such as MSc SAD MIS (2022–2023), SAP S/4 HANA, and Erasmus MIS, as well as specialized subjects like Introduction to ABAP and SAP module. Students can also access materials related to ThesisXenod and earlier BSc and MSc programs (2019–2020). The platform aims to facilitate collaboration, resource sharing, and learning continuity across different study levels and academic years.

Mitos Evidences
The platform allows for the categorization and analysis of the “supporting documents” that exist in the MITOS system. The data was retrieved from MITOS API (2024) and cleaned using OpenRefine. It was then stored in a relational database. The application recognizes the details of each type of supporting document and the number of different descriptions of supporting documents that have been used in various procedures. The user can also see in which supporting documents and for which procedures each type of supporting document has been registered.
The platform was developed by Orestis Triantafyllos Alayaloglou as part of his thesis “Study and development of an application for the categorization of supporting documents in the public sector,” supervised by Prof. Efthimios Tampouris.
